In early April, all staff of CMMC advocated to donate money to build Hope primary school in poor mountain areas. On April 14, an earthquake measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale struck Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Yushu, Qinghai province, and it caused great losses to local people’s lives and property. CMMC leaders, Party member of the CPC and staff paid high attention to this quake. Especially when Chongqing municipal committee issued the notice about encouraging Party organizations at all levels and Party cadres to support earthquake relief work, all staff responded to the call of Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (Group) Co. Ltd. and CMMC, and enthusiastically donated money for earthquake relief work of Yushu.
From April 21, all Party members and staff fully carried forward the spirit when disaster struck, help came from all sides, and took actions to support earthquake relief work with money donation. Guided by Party members and our leaders, non-party members also enthusiastically participated in the donation. Until the closing day of April 25, there was 68 staff, 93% of the total, donating money equal to 24300yuan, with average of 357yuan. The Party members in CMMC headquarter donated 11700yuan; there were 7 people donating more than 1000yuan, including 4 Party members and 3 non-Party members. CMMC Board Chairman & Secretary of CPC General Branch Ms. Yuan Changyu was on a business trip, entrusting executive department to donate 2000yuan. General Manager Liu Ming also donated 2000yuan. CMMC non–Party members also donated more than 1000yuan, including No.2 Overseas Engineering department manager Zhang Guo, No.1 Machinery department manager Lei Liyun and No.5 Machinery department manager Xu Lei. It was the most commendable that staff who were on business trips, cleaners, gatekeepers, and new staff also participated in our donation activities. After tabulate statistics, we handed the money to Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (Group) Co. Ltd. on time. |
